Outsourcing print jobs for processing can be very beneficial to many businesses. Production capabilities are usually greater with companies that specialize in the print and mail business. MRS Mail Express produces a varied line-up of documents including:
  • Local exchange telephone bills
  • Long distance telephone bills
  • Medical bills (clinic, hospital, and physician)
  • Collection letters
  • Notification letters
  • Credit Union statements
In most cases, the process is simple. The files or data is downloaded or transmitted to MRS using a mutually agreed upon method. This may be e-mail, FTP, HTTP, or some storage device such as CD-ROM, tape, or diskette. Our network department can usually accommodate most common methods and will try and adapt to any alternative method whenever possible. Once the files have been received, they are then converted into the preferred format and design by the use of a “mapping” program. This program does not create the data but merely rearranges it to fit the form and layout specified by the customer. When the “mapping” is complete, the files are sent to the printers. These printers offer simplex or duplex, selective input, and high resolution. Upon completion of the printing, the documents are then sent to the production area to be inserted, sealed, metered, and mailed. Fast turn-around is important to all business customers, and MRS Mail Express will work with any time restriction imposed if it is within our capabilities.

During the mapping process, several other important functions are performed such as:
  • All mailing addresses are verified for delivery capability and if possible, certified with the corresponding bar code. This enables the mail to qualify for the automated discounts available from the USPS. All unqualified mailing addresses are listed on a report and sent back to the customer.
  • Bar codes are used to expedite the inserting process. The mapping program creates these bar codes for all multi-page documents. They are printed in the margin of the statement and are read by the inserter. This insures the correct number of pages goes into the envelope. To further assist the completion of the job, a verifying barcode is printed in the address block that identifies the document and is read at the output station of the inserter.
  • A complete set of reports outlining the job process is created at the completion of each job and is available to the customer upon request. These reports show the total number of statements processed, which documents had good or bad addresses, when the job was performed, and the list of unqualified addresses within the file.
